A Quick Escapade

Hubby was again invited to go to Alor Star. He's supposed to collect the check (cheque) which was raised from the charity match between the Brazilian footballers and Kedah football team. The Mentari Besar (Governor) of Kedah wanted to hand over the check himself.. (I got an email from one of my blogger friends and told me the right spelling for Menteri Besar. Thanks Mimi, I appreciate the gesture). So Peter had to go. And hmmm... I went with him, knowing it was only a day trip. My... after two years (and a half probably) of not flying without kids, I felt very awkward... but more relaxed. The last time was when I went with hubby to Bali, Indonesia for a meeting and we left my 16-month old boy with my parents-in-law. Anyway, it was a good one day "escapade." It was sort of a short honeymoon. LOL. We flew by air asia and stayed in Holiday Villa Alor Star for a day stay. They didn't have standard room available so we checked in one of their suite rooms. We flew at 7am and reached Alor Star at 8:00am+ and the meeting was only at 2:00pm. So we had a good rest before the meeting.

Anyways, the Menteri Besar was a very kind man. We bumped into him (along with his ex-co members) at the lift area at the Kedah State government office. He didn't know what we were there for yet... but he greeted us when he saw us and asked us whether we were there for marriage registration. hehehe. Well, with me and hubby dressing up like that, one would surely think we were getting married. Peter recognized it was him so we followed them at his office. And when we all went inside, he was surprised it was us he was going to meet with. That was funny. One thing I learned though that members of political parties are not allowed to shake hands with women.

The Mentari Besar knew I wasn't Malay (otherwise I'd be wearing Baju Kurung. Well, I could have worn it... but the dress just doeasn't look nice on me). So when Peter said the check was for Myanmar, he jokingly asked whether I was from Myanmar. I told him I was from the Philippines and he asked me where in the Philippines. I told him where and he asked me a series of questions after that... then he told us he was in the Philippines to lecture at Marawi Univeristy a long time ago. No wonder he kept asking me. But it was nice of him to be talking to me. I thought I would just sit there and keep quiet because it was men's "business." He was such a kind man. No wonder people of Kedah love him.

Our flight back hom was at 5:00pm. We reached LCCT (Low Cost Carrier Terminal - mainly for Air Asia) at 6:00pm. We decided to go straight to Sunway Pyramid to watch James Bond - Quantum of Solace. They said it's the best James Bond movie so far. I loved the movie but I still don't prefer Daniel Craig. He doesn't have that charming or teasing look compared to the previous actors of James Bond movies like George Moore, or Sean Connery or even Pierce Brosnan. So for me, he wasn't the perfect guy for James Bond. He could perfectly do stunts though and he's got a hot body... but the facial expression of a James Bond wasn't there. Anyways... I am glad we were able to do many things in one day. We came home at around 11:00 pm. The kids were asleep already.

I am grateful for my parents-in-law for coming and taking care of the kids for such a short notice we gave them. We only decided for me to go with Peter the night before the flight. It was nice of them to come to our house straight away, albeit Banting is one hour away from Subang Jaya.

It was one great day of s3xcapade break for me and hubby . I truly appreciate the break (I wonder though how it would be like to go for an escapade in hotels las vegas). It was a fun-filled day and of course, another proud moment for me for my hubby. God is indeed taking him to greater heights.

You know what... I checked my last year's post for November 13. I was surprised that on this day last year, Peter was not at home and I was grumbling a bit. Here's my post: This, Too, Shall Pass. Indeed, it has passed.

it's me,
