Make Money with your Poem

I love making poems. It helps me express my deepest emotion. Only in a few words but all it means is expressed in one simple poem. Sometimes... it's hard to fathom what I mean with every line I make. You have to really dig deep within to really understand what the poem really means. But so far, in my whole life, I have created only a few poems. When I was in college, I used to submit poems in our College Paper and only a couple was accepted. However, it didn't stop me from making poems as I would express my self really well when writing one. I have actually submitted a couple of my poems to a few poetry websites. It's nice to see your own creation being published, isn't it? Why don't you try submitting yours... you not only get to be recognized with your own creation, you could also stand to win 10,000US$! I'm not kidding. (This is not a paid post by the way). If you're interested, pls submit your poem by clicking through the image above. And please let me know if you win, yeah?

here are a few ones i have written:

Q-Dees Fliptech Showcase

Q-dees Fliptech-Q had its show off today. My son has been going to Q-dees since January and I could tell there's a lot of improvement with his development (in different areas) as a child. Of course, parents are not allowed to stay in the classroom so we always wonder what they're learning at school. Until today. Each class had a presentation of what they have learned so far. My child, according to his teacher, was very good in his performance. So they asked me whether they could use him for the other class presentation. And I thought, why not? It's a good exposure for him. So he had to stay back for the next session of presentation

As a parent of a first-time preschooler, I was a bit nervous. What if they expected too much from my son and he couldn't comply with it because he would be too shy to perform in front of a crowd? Oh well, I thought... we'd see how it goes since this is his first time ever to perform.

But last night, he ran a fever. It was not that high but I gave him a shot of Diclofenac Sodium to lower down his temperature. And how my worries became worse coz he got sick. But he woke up today feeling okay. So off we went to his school. His daddy came at 1:00am last night... just in time for him to attend his son's first ever performance.

So here here's the result: Schenker doing his best. I'm just hoping that nobody would notice where his other hand was while singing. LOL! Enjoy!

The next one is: "I am a Beamer"

How proud Mom I am. :)

My boy had just his first ever performance at school last Saturday. To see his performance, click the image above.

My girl was busy playing at the school's playground while her brother was busy doing his performance.

Hubby took us all to TGIF after the performance... as a celebration of our boy's success. He has this big dessert after meal.

I had the ice cream in between the chocolate chip cakes for my dessert.

Gymboree - Malaysia

I found out about Gymboree when my neighbor friend Sharon invited us to his son's birthday party in Gymboree. I was so impressed and encouraged to send my son there, too. So when he turned 18 months old, we started sending him there. The sad thing was, we didn't send him regularly coz we would tag along with my hubby to his trips. But sending him there was worth it, especially that it has helped him in building his confidence. We saw a lot of improvements in his social and problem-solving skills and his language development after a couple of months. I have kept the information sheet for Gymboree Activities for 16-22 months old. I am hoping I could do this for Samantha as she is now 16 months old. Sometimes, I admit, I talk only and not do anything serious. Hehehe. Oh well... I really hope I can start with this soon.

Quite A Quiet Night and Entrecard

Tonight seems to be quiet for me (after I chatted with hubby, that is). So I decided to do enrtrecard dropping. I was aiming to visit 100 blogs... but I am just too sleepy and decided to just aim for 1000 points. So I just hit the 1,000 credits and I bought an ad. it's my first time buying an ad. What I need to do now is to wait for an approval. And also, I got a bit stuck with some of the blogs because they were too nice to be left without reading. So I have read quite a few blogs today.

I have been seeing a list of top 10 entrecard droppers in other people's blogs and I've been wondering how on earth could somebody know the top 10 card droppers. So I made a bit of little research and found out about it in the summary. Next time I'm gonna make a separate post about my statistics when I'm not too sleepy. Those card droppers deserve a nice and thank-you post. So hang in there.

For now, it's a good night. Two more sleeps and hubby arrives. Yey!!!

Cozy Moments

I just had a cozy moment with my kids. We were on the couch, kissing and hugging each other... when suddenly, my boy started hugging me so tight... and whispered. Mommy, I'm so happy.

I asked him why. He didn't answer me. Instead, he said, Mommy I'm a boy and Girlie is a girl. I said yes, but why are you happy? He didn't asnwer me again. He said, Mommy, teacher told me I talk too much. Then I said no, then teacher said yes and I said no, and teacher said yes... And I had to stop him... okay Schenker... tell me first. Why are you happy? He said because... you and daddy and girlie love me.

If you're a mom reading this, you would know how i felt the moment he said that. This was just of those moments that even money couldn't buy. This was one of those moments that you're glad you're a stay-at-home mom, showing all your love and care and attention for the kids. This was just one of those moments that you forgot their mischief. A moment where all the sacrifices you did (just to be with them and nurture them) are being paid off. It's no regrets not go with hubby to US after all.

Becoming Jane

This movie is about Jane Austen, a well known author behind a few famous English Classics. I simply loved her Pride and Prejudice. I read it twice after seeing the movie. Honestly, when I first saw the movie Pride and Prejudice, I didn't understand a lo of their conversations. I had a hard time understanding Enlgish accent and the subtitle was a bothersome. But I liked the plot of the story. Very romantic. So when I saw the book which was second hand and it was very cheap, I bought it. That's when I fully understood what they were talking about. After that, I watched the movie again. And again. And again. I could watch it 50,000 times more. That's how I love the story. And English Classics. And Jane Austen.

So when the movie Becoming Jane came out, I promised myself that I surely will watch it. So when hubby and I went to this movie shop and I saw the movie, I bought it straight away.

It's quite an inspiring Jane Austen story. Although she never really married the man she loved... it was still a good movie. You know how we all get sad when there's no "and they live happily ever after" ending... but this one has a very nice ending. I liked the way Jane and Tom Lefroy developed their romance. It was very romantic and intensed. Jane came from a not so well off family and she was expected to regain the family's fortune by marrying an heir to the Ladyship of Gresham (Lady Gresham). But she refused to marry him because she didn't love him at all. If she married him, she would marry him for money only and she knew for sure that wouldn't be happy.

I think Jane Austen is rather a confusing lady. She fell in love with Lefroy and yet refused to marry him coz he was the breadwinner of his family and she knew that if there's not enough money, their love will fall off. And they will end up not being happy. That was a very bad decision, I think. But she was happy with what she's doing. She was an accomplished lady which was a taboo that time coz ladies are expected to just stay at home, be a full time mom and wife and attend to home matters only.

Anyways... it was during this time that she was inspired to write her book "Pride and Prejudice" which I love so much. I just bought her other book, Sense and Sensibility which I also bought second hand. I haven't started reading it yet. And I haven't seen the movie yet. It would be nice to read the book first then the movie later. There's always a feeling of excitement everytime I watch movies which was derived from the book I read already.

By the way, Anne Hathaway was so gorgeous. Such a beauty. Glad she acted as Jane Austen.

Are Our Kids Safe?

It has been awhile since I've seen this notice. Where is Sharlinie? Sharlinie is a five-year old Malay girl who had disappeared or was kidnapped from a playground 200 meters away from her house... early January this year. The search has been going on since then. And yet, until now... she's not found. I wonder where she is now and if she's still living. What a painful, sad and traumatic experience this has been for the family... and for her.

Sharlinie is just one of those who had been missing. There are lots of missing children outthere that we don't even know. This is indeed very saddening and scary. What if the abductors misuse them, or abuse them or worst, sell them.

This case is a good reminder for us parents to always protect and supervise our kids. We have to do all we can to ensure our child safety. We should always teach them not to talk to strangers... or better yet not to accept any thing from a stranger, especially candies. Candies usually are the ploys to get the kids to trust people. One of the things we could do probably is to use child id. This could be use as a child locator if ever we lose our kids. I'm always very scared everytime we go to shopping mall and my boy wanders around by himself. I always want him to be by my side. Call me paranoid but it's better to be safe than be sorry. You might wanna check out Child Alert System for information on how to effectively protect our family.

My Money-Making Referrals

I just chatted with a friend... and we talked about generating income through blogging. I started monetizing my blog last December 20, 2007. And I earned quite a bit since then.I was able to treat my family to a nice dinner and bought some clothes and stuff... It's exciting to get the payment... especially the first one.

It actually helps when your blog has PR. You get a higher rate compared to having none. But you can monetize your blog even if it doesn't have PR.

But before you apply for these companies, make sure you have a paypal account (just go to their website http://www.paypal.com). It is where most of them send the payment. If you're in Malaysia, you can use your credit card to apply for paypal. If you're in the Philippines, there's a bank (I think it's Union Bank) you can use to apply and create a paypal account. When you have created your paypal account, you can start your application to these companies:

Pay Per Post requires you to have a 90-day old blog with original posts. They reply fast once your blog is approved. But if the blog is not approved, it takes 2 weeks for them to reply saying that your blog is not approved. I applied twice for this blog and it was only approved on second application. In pay per post, once you're approved, they have a line of opportunities you can work on. If your blog has a PR0, it's hard to get opps. But if it has a higher PR, then there's a lot of opps waiting for you to work on. When my blog suddenly got PR3, I was overwhelmed with lots of opps to work on. Good thing I maximized the time I had PR. Got quite a bit of earning from writing opps that time. Payout is 30 days after you write the review.

Blog Advertising - Get Paid to Blog

Smorty was the first one to approve my blogs. Good payment process also. Smorty requires your blog to be 90 days old and must have a lot of indexed pages. I have earned quite a bit from Smorty. But these days, all it offers is to write about g5mbl1ng sites... which I don't do.

This one doesn't have a lot of requirements. It's very fast to get approval. The only thing is, you have to bid on the opportunities, then wait for the advertisers to approve your bid. Only then you can write your review. You must be patient if you're into this. Have to wait for a few days sometimes to get your bids approved. They take 60% of the amount they display for the opp. But the payout is rather good. They do once in two weeks.

Blogger Ads

This is also very easy to apply with. I like their process but can be boring too. They will email you once you have a job. But they don't have a lot of opps. Payout is usually at the end of the month.

There are other money-making sites you might wanna try:

Wish you best, my friend. :)

Google Maps and Memories

Hubby and I were making out were he would be on his 10 day-trip in the US. We used google maps to search the place. We were so excited coz it was really showing the exact location and how the place looked like. If you have used google maps, you would know what I meant. From there, we tried searching for our address now... in Subang Jaya and yes, it showed our house in front of the park and it led me to search for the place where I spent most of my childhood days, from 7 years of age until 17th (Cotabato Airport, Maguindanao)... at an Army Camp. You know... those were the most exciting years of our lives when we just turned to be a "lady", when we developed our girly figures, met our first crushes, first broken hearted, etc. I showed hubby excitedly what I was doing where... at the exact place! Showed him where we used to do our egg hunting on Easter Sundays, showed him where I learned to play basketball, volleyball, softball, and a little bit of tennis... showed him which river we went to everytime my father came back from the "project" because we needed to wash the M35 he was driving... showed him the runway (airport) where we used to jog... showed him the little creek we used to pass by on the way to school and on the way back home... showed him which road I walked (which was 1.5 kms) going to school... showed him where we used to hold parties. I remember we organized a soldiers' kids club and I was one of the officers and we would always organize parties and games and camps. It was amazing as I had a good time reminiscing my childhood-teenage years. I had indeed a very rich and colorful childhood experience. I also showed hubby how depressed my siblings and I were when we moved to Butuan where we thought it was the most boring and "un-social" place. But hey.. all these made up to what and who I am now. In my entire life, I have lived in more than 10 places! And I showed hubby those places. Ain't google maps a miracle? Although I still feel bad about google for taking away my pr3, but still am grateful for their effort to do the most detailed satellite/map one could ever see.

If you can see the straight road on top, it's the runway. Parallel to the runway is a small road... and on its adjacent you can see a semi-circle area... it's where we used to do our egg hunting and softball games. The officers of the Engineering battalion used that to play golf. The semi-circle field is inside a rectangular area... if you can see that. That's where I spent my 10 years of playing and growing up. On the left are the small houses... one of them was ours. It's indeed unbelievable as all these years, I've been dreaming to go back there... been wanting to take hubby there. And here it was, showing me and him in just a moment. I am so happy.

Weekend Snapshot 15

Banana Leaf Rice

Have you ever eaten on a banana leaf rice? The Indian way? I have. This is very interesting as all the food (rice, and all the dishes, yoghurt, pickles and dried chilli) will be placed on the banana leaf and you eat it with your hand.... not fingers... hand.

And it's best to finish off with Swensen's Earthquake Ice Cream.

I am so into food trip. What about you? How was your weekend?

My New Business Card

Yey... I have a new business card. My friend Ruby did it for me. She has such a great and kind heart. One thing I like about Ruby is that she is so generous and unselfish. She willingly shares all these seo stuff and things like that. And recently, she's into digiscrapping. And she created a new blog that shows off her talent in digital scrapping. I like her new design. You should see it. Then recently, she did her business card. I like it so much I asked her to do one for me. And here it is...

Photobucket

<a href="http://j3net.blogspot.com/"><img src="http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh229/pinay-mommy/jan04copy.jpg"></a>

What do you think? She actually did a few cards for me to choose from. I chose this one. You may grab the code too if you want to link up with me (if you haven't done so, that is).

I am so grateful for Ruby for taking time to do this for me. Thanks so much Rubs. You're a real gem.

Girls Will Be Girls

Ever heard of saying "Boys will be boys?" Heard that a lot of times. And it's true. Boys will be boys. But what about girls? I never heard about that but I believe that girls also will be girls.

My girl is only 16 months old but here she is:

I always keep my make up away from her... but sometimes she finds a way to take them. Like this one. My lipstick was on top of the drawer. I didn't know how she took it. Anyways... I guess girls will be girls.

My Hiatusness

I haven't been posting in this blog for a few days now... since my hubby came back from Phuket. Aside from posting opps in my other blog, I have been busy spending quiet moments with hubby. I have never missed him that bad (he was in Phuket for 6 days). I didn't even miss him that much when I spent 6 weeks with my family in Butuan, Philippines last year. Dunno what got into me. Oh well... probably just more in love (?). LOL! (Corny time - hahaha!). Anyways, in marriage, we have to keep falling in love with our spouses... otherwise we'll be in trouble.

So what have we been doing aside from those "quiet moments?" We've been watching movies, going out to the malls, and just been talkin'. He's preparing to leave for US... He's gonna leave in 5 days time for 10 days. So we're spending time with each other like crazy.

My friend Lalaine asked me if my blogging season was over and what am I into now... a new hobby... or what. Well, I'm still in this blogging season... considering the fact that I'm still earning from blogging (in my other blog). But my hobby now is my hubby. LOL.

We're actually planning to go to Cameron Highlands for a break when he comes back. But when we looked at his schedule, he'll be free only in June. So we won't be going anywhere until June. We bought a few movies (DVDs) a few days back. I'd be spending time watching movies when hubby's not around then.
