computer reformat

my friend ruby just reformatted her computer. she said it worked better than the last time. but she said she lost a lot of things and now she's starting to install back the installers one by one. i am also thinking of reformatting my notebook. it has been real slow in opening its programs. i probably need to increase its ram (random access memory). it has been like this since i started using autosurf programs. you know, when you want to have a lot of traffics for your website you'd go to the extent of doing anything just so you can reach your goal. anyways, after i reformat, i would definitely increase its memory and avoid doing autosurfing. sometimes, when you want to be successful in life, we better avoid some quick-schemes to get things done. it's better to take the narrow "classic" road, do things slowly but surely and hit the mark successfully. hope i am making sense. hehehe.

Web Hosting Geeks

I have changed my blog's templates a few times. This template is the longest one I am using. And looks like I'm going to change template again. My header used to have tea set and news paper, symbolizing hospitality for me. But I don't know why, I cannot see the design header anymore.

Nowadays, in order to get approval from get paid to post companies, you need to have your own design header. It is a plus. It just says that you mean business. And in addition, (which is more important) you need to have your own custom domain. In order to get a custom domain, you need to choose the best web hosting there is. At webhostinggeeks.com, you'll find a range of webhosts that you could choose from. Try it now.

share it

As for Philip, an angel of the Lord said to him, "Go south down the desert road that runs from Jerusalem to Gaza." So he started out, and he met the treasurer of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under the Kandake, the queen of Ethiopia. The eunuch had gone to Jerusalem to worship, and he was now returning. Seated in his carriage, he was reading aloud from the book of the prophet Isaiah.

The Holy Spirit said to Philip, "Go over and walk along beside the carriage."

Philip ran over and heard the man reading from the prophet Isaiah. Philip asked, "Do you understand what you are reading?"

The man replied, "How can I, unless someone instructs me?" … So beginning with this same Scripture, Philip told him the Good News about Jesus.

Acts 8:26–31, 35
view in context

Encouragement for Today

God gave Philip very specific instructions. He had a divine appointment for Philip with an influential man who was obviously seeking God. Philip obeyed and shared his faith. Note that he used Scripture to talk about the Gospel. He had to know and understand the Scriptures to open them up to another person. Do you know Scripture well enough to do this? Do you use God's Word when you share your faith? Finally, do you believe God is already preparing people to learn about him, and are you willing to be sent to them and to open your mouth about Jesus?

friend's birthday

schenker and samantha were invited for a friend's birthday party the other saturday. the party was held at megakidz, midvally megamall. i was glad because the first time i took the boy there, he loved it to bits! he was freely running around, climbing up and own, jumping on the inflated house and a lot more. so i thought of taking samantha there too. i knew she would love it. but their friend, gareth invited them for his birthday celebration so i was happy. there were so many toys and games that you can play there with. the party was a success. all the kids were having a blast playing around, having a party. will probably hold schenker's 4th birthday there. maybe. that's 4 months away. plans can still change.

samantha's new dress

it has been a long wait. everytime we passed by the girls' section in the mall, we would be wondering when we could buy a dress for our little girl. we thought when she was a baby, it's not worth to buy expensive clothes for her since she'd outgrow her clothes fast. today, her daddy couldn't wait any longer. he bought her a new dress from secret garden. it's very pretty and she looks nice in it. it's nice to buy stuff for kids for keeping and for giving as gifts. Also, at another shop, polkadotpatch, you can buy nice baby gifts. just a suggestion for those who are looking for gifts.

Children of Hurin

I have finally finished reading the book "Children of Hurin" by JRR Tolkien and his son, Christopher Tolkien which I blogged about here: Children of Hurin. It didn't really have a good ending. Hurin's children died like that of the story of Romeo and Juliet. But of course, what do I expect? Children of Hurin is just one of the series in Tolkien's book Silmarillion, in which he had ended this tale in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. If you have read this book, you would know of course that the TLOR trilogy is just a part of Silmarillion, which only takes 3 pages of the book. Amazing how Tolkien could write such literature. If you love LOTR and haven't read Silmarillion, I suggest you check out Amazon books. I'm sure it's available there.

a prayer

I just got my daily encouragement subscription for today. And I want to share it with you too.

May the LORD continually bless you from Zion.
May you see Jerusalem prosper as long as you live.
May you live to enjoy your grandchildren.
May Israel have peace!

Psalm 128:5–6
view in context

Encouragement for Today

Turn this into a prayer for blessing. "Lord, please continually bless me from your heavenly throne. May I see my family, my neighborhood, my state, and my country prosper as long as I live. Please let my spouse and me to live to see our grandchildren. May you give our country quietness and peace and help me do whatever I can to foster that peace. Amen." Of course, you may pray this prayer for your loved ones and your church, as well.

peter's office

i used to go with hubby to his office once a week. but when my son, schenker, had to go to school, i haven't been going there much. only when it is needed i could go there. one time, when hubby took me to his office, he surprised me by doing up his room. before we reached the office, he called his assistant to turn on the yellow lamp, burn the lavender essential oil and clean up his office furniture. his office looked so cozy and romantic. i had a good time staying there again. my girl also had a good time playing around her daddy's office.

watch that weight

peter's brother's wedding is coming really really soon. everybody's excited and preparing for it. my family, for one, is busy buying clothes for everybody. we went to bukit bintang plaza and saw some nice clothes for the kids. i am buying saree for myself. hopefully, my tummy will be a bit down by then. i really need to lose those extras, especially in the abdomen area. i am tempted to try generic Phentermine but i am still breastfeeding. how? maybe do sit ups? probably. i'm just hoping i would have the time and energy to do exercise and get back into shape again. aiming for the shape on the left of the image, not on the right. think i can manage to do it in 3 weeks time?

Another tag:
A White Rose

This is a tag from Vicy. Thanks for the white rose Vicy. I love it.

What does a white rose represent? White is a color symbolic of many positive things, such as marriage, purity, virtue, and innocence. White is linked to emotions of harmony and serenity. The breathtaking purity and simplistic beauty of a white rose can’t be beat. White roses signify deep, clear emotions. They are given without reservation or ambivalence. The red rose signifies lust or passion, but the white rose goes much deeper to suggest an infinite love that goes to the very core of one’s being. It carries an almost spiritual significance. White roses symbolize devotion, kindness, and deep friendship in love.

Now we are passing on this shining, shimmering, splendid white rose to some of our friends and we are tagging them as well…

I am giving this white rose to:

1. Aisha
2. Lalaine
3. Litlit
4. Mimi
5. Bern
6. Blessings and Beyond.
7. Mariz
8. Josiet

good benefit

i have stopped drinking wine since i got pregnant with my boy. according to some books i read, it's okay to drink one glass per day. but better not risk at all. but i know of some mothers who had drunk wine when they were pregnant and yet they have amazingly brilliant kids. wines have great benefits for health and if you're thinking of wine gifts, you can actually get from California wine club.

she has a cancer

it has been almost two years since it was discovered that peter's cousin, an 18 year old girl had a cancer in lymphoma. She was already at stage 4 when it was discovered. The doctor told her parents that she might only live for a couple more months coz she was already on stage 4. But she has passed through that couple of months and she's still alive! we thank God for that. but of course we need more prayers now as the cancer has gone worse. last week, she had to undergo another session of chemotherapy and she was supposed to sleep for straight 8 days! please let us continue to pray for her. she's very young at 18 years and she has a bright future waiting for her... i hope. let us all pray for all the cancer patients, not forgetting the mesothelioma cancer patients as well.

breakaway

my family and i
are still on our
holiday break
at Swiss Garden, Kuantan
and will be back on
friday.

channels

After our Philippine trip last, when I came back to Malaysia, I was thinking of installing a cable television at home, hoping to see the Filipino channel. But until now, it is not installed yet. My desire to have a CAT5e cable also faded away. Now I'm content with browsing in the net with what's happening in the Philippines. You know when you're away, you can't help with the fact that in some point of your life, you just wanna know what's happening in your country, the latest buzz, the latest fashion, the latest entertainment and even the latest technology. so i thank internet for helping me connect with the updates from home.

looking for better web host

A friend asked me to set up a custom domain for her because the last time she did herself, she got into a lot of problems. When I did mine, it was so smooth. So she asked me to do hers just now. I found I had the same problem she faced when she set up her first custom domain. Now we don't know what the real problem is. I hope she will be able to fix it soon. This problem led me to look for a better web hosting sites. Actually, when you look for webhost sites, you need to consider a few things. You need to find out from others about the webhost. You know, read some testimonials. This would benefit you a lot, saving energy from doing troubleshooting and all that. Another thing to do is compare its services with others. Are they easy to reply to your queries? Do they have a very good support services? Then, think about long term benefits. Do you get a lot of benefits from it? Are you able to gain good results? Also, a good host should be able to offer a good web hosting tutorials. All these things must be in mind before considering which option is the best. Then you'll find yourself happy and smiling all the way.

tend your flock

Know the state of your flocks,
and put your heart into caring for your herds,
for riches don't last forever,
and the crown might not be passed to the next generation.
After the hay is harvested and the new crop appears
and the mountain grasses are gathered in,
your sheep will provide wool for clothing,
and your goats will provide the price of a field.
And you will have enough goats' milk for yourself,
your family, and your servant girls.

Proverbs 27:23–27
view in context

Encouragement for Today

Who or what are your "flocks," your herds, the source of your wealth? Are they your skills, the people you know, your knowledge? Whatever they are, tend them well. Keep adding to them. Realize that external events (economics, politics) will change, but if you have a solid source of provision, you'll be protected from the vagaries of outside change. Note, too, that your faithfulness to earning your living affects others—your family and those who depend on you. Know the state of your flocks, and tend them well—with heart!

at the park

the children's park is just across the house. so almost every afternoon, after the kids' nap, we would go to the park. my girl loves going on the slides. she could slide on the bigger children's slide. she's that daring. my boy would slide once and it's enough. he would take his bicycle though and cycle around the park. this part is very good and almost complete. there's also a basketball court and badminton court. it's always lively there. also, some would play golf there. not the real golf game... just a practice. so you would see lost golf balls lying around. my girl would love picking them up and playing with them. i wish i can play real golf.

i love ikea

i love going to ikea. last time, every sunday, we would go there after church. and i always say this. when you go to ikea, you never go out empty handed. you have at least one item bought from there. they always have new things to sell. one thing about ikea is they have do-it-yourself furniture. i love buying furnitures, kitchen stuff, bedroom and living room stuff and any thing household stuff. the best thing is, they would send out a furniture catalog once a year. so you would know when they have new products available.
