Make Up Class

We went to Tumble Tots to do a makeup class for Samantha. We missed her session last Saturday when we attended a friend's wedding. Good thing they have her classes few times in a week. We can easily fill up her absence the next day.

she likes to be independent. so here she is, doing her stints on a narrow bar after climbing up and down the ladder on her own.

She likes the parachute song as well.
Schenker and I had a great time at Games Archade while Samantha and her daddy were in her Tumble Tots session.

Find Out Who Called You

It has been a while since somebody called me from our house phone. My callers must have grown tired of dialing our house phone number. Majority of our house phone callers would be looking for my husband and if they couldn't speak with him in our land phone, they would definitely call his phone. When I realized this, I decided to just pass on some calls because I know that if nobody answers our house phone, they would definitely call him. Unless of course, I'm expecting a certain phone call... then I would answer it. Most of my family members and friends would call me in a handphone so I know I don't miss any important calls for me. Or they would get online and try to contact me because as you can probably see I am online most of the time. So what happens if our house phone rings and I pick up the phone and I get those annoying phone calls? Of course, it sucks. I'm sure you would be annoyed too, wouldn't you? Well, you too can Find Out Who Called You. Of course, if you're unlike me who wants to pick up every phone call you're getting because you don't want to miss any important calls, you can actually do a National No Call Registry where you can actually block unwanted calls, especially from telemarketers. So when you register your phone number, you are effectively removing your number from any database telemarketers my have. It's for free. So might want to check it out too.

it's me,

samantha's first coffee bean experience

samantha loves drinking chocolate drinks. oh well, she loves everything sweet. everytime we go to starbucks or coffee bean, she would definitely take a sip from our cups. but last sunday, her doting father ordered a cup of ice blended chocolate just for her. didn't know the coffee bean and tea leaf shop has the kiddie size cups. you bet she was very happy to get her own cup of ice blended chocolate!

it's me,

court records

there has been indeed a lot of meetings online happening these days. what with out busy schedules and everytime we want to meet a friend, we have to wait until we set an appointment. getting online and meeting friends is just so convenient you don't need to set an appointment, do you? it's fun getting to know friends online. i have met a lot of friends online and some of them i have met in person already. it's great to finally put a real face behind those friendly chatters you meet. But of course, in meeting friends online, you have to be cautious who you are meeting with... especially if you decided to finally do eye balls. better yet, search for his/her Court Records online. i mean, i don't mean to be suspecting but you know it's better to be safe than be sorry. at local court records, they will give you all the details you will need in order to get to know that person more.

it's me,

post 101

i have never posted in this blog so much. i can't believe that i just wrote my 100th post for this month. i thought last month was the maximum i could write. now i am writing my 101st post. just for this month. so i am giving it a special place, to thank God for allowing me to post this much. you know when you have this much, it means you're doing well in terms of paid blogging. that means, more opportunities or assignments to write and that means more income coming your way! I just thank God for this.

it's me,

do you get prank calls?

Does your phone ever ring and when you answer the call, you don't hear anything? Or do you get calls from the numbers unfamiliar to you? And when you get this calls, does it annoy you? Well, it does to me. It's indeed annoying to get those annoying calls. The god thing is there is Caller Identifier which allows you to identify the number. You can then log on to calleridentifier.com and leave comments about the number that called you. You can even find out why they called you. Hmmm... it's just good to end these annoying phone calls, isn't it?

weekend snapshot - ferris wheel?

I can't quite make out what this thing was. Was it a ferris wheel miniature? hehehe. Nevertheless, kids had fun riding in it. Found it in Subang Parada Games Archade.

schenker on the wheel

it's samantha's turn now.

We had fun at the Games Archade during the weekend. What about you? How was your weekend?

his cozy office

Peter has always been keeping his office room cozy. He said he works better if his office is cozy. There was one time that I haven't been going to his office. He was telling me he's working on in his office to make it nice. Then one day he asked me to go with him. I was surprised because his office indeed looked very cozy. There were table lamps with yellow lights everywhere. He even asked his secretary to burn the lavender essential oil before we reached the office. So you can just imagine how pleasant the surprise was.

His office has nice Coffee Tables. I love going there because you feel so warm and his colleagues are all so hospitable. Anyways, if you're looking for Conference Tables and different sorts of tables , just visit www.pacify.com. They have all sorts of tables ranging from contemporary to modern tables. As what they say - they all set the look of the room. I also like looking at Dining Tables. I like hosting dinners. So everytime I window shop for furniture, I'd spend time looking t the dining table and imagining how it would look like when I serve dinner.

Q-Dees Update

I have been getting a lot of emails asking for more information on some of my articles. It's good to know that when they search google and end up in my blog, they find it useful and all the more it's good when they ask me for more information. One email I got of late was about my reviews about Q-dees school. My son goes to Q-dees and I wrote something about Q-dees Reading Program. I haven't actually been updating this blog about my boy's progress in school after I blogged about their Q-Dees Fliptech Showcase. That time, they were having a "show" day on what has been learned. My boy, after 3 months in school has improved his social skills and was "the darling of the crowd" in his category when they sang the Chinese song and other songs.

Anyways, his reading has been really good. He's in Book 8 now. They're supposed to finish at least 8 books for one year. Now he's almost finished with his book 8 and he still has 2 more months to go before the school ends. He is reading by recognition and at the same time, he's learning how to read using phonics/phonetics. I like the program because they use a combination of both. He gets the best of both worlds.

All in all, I am happy with his progress. Although I heard there are other moms who are not in favor of Q-Dees because they're using computers for their program... but hey, I use computer too to teach him at home. So I'm not bothered by it.

By the way, my son's Q-dees' Annual Concert will be on October 15, 2008 at Pusat Sivik, from 7:00 - 10:00 pm. If you happen to be around, You might be interested to see my son and other kids from Q-dees showing off their talents. I am excited for this and this is going to be his first concert ever. See you there!

it's me,

make your home cozy

My husband and I love decorating our house. Although we don't spend much on the decorations but we make sure what we have is just nice for our house. The challenge right now is how to maintain its coziness. With two active kids around, it's hard to have a spic and span house. When we clean the house, it only lasts for 15 minutes as the kids would start pulling out toys again. Also, if I don't want them to play their toys and hide them, they would definitely look for something they can "investigate." And that's even more dangerous as they would sometimes "investigate" the things that are not meant to be played with.

The key to having a cozy house is to keep things in minimum. Use yellow lights. In fact, you can burn scented candles if you want... but out of reach of kids, please. Blinds would be a great asset. I always admire houses that have blinds. Well, curtains are great too. But blinds give that extra, romantic feeling. I especially adore Wood Blinds. At www.smithandnoble.com, you can find a variety of blinds. You can even design your custom Wood Blinds in your choice of rich stains, fashion-forward paints, exciting new weathered finishes, even 5 shades of white. I love rich stains or earth colors. So I would go for that. Rich, earth colored wood blinds coupled with yellow lights... is just perfect. I wouldn't ask for more.

made in china

There has been an ongoing product recalls that are made in China. It has been found that a lot of products has been contaminated with melamine which is poisonous. A lot of babies died because of using these milk products that contain melamine. Anyways, for those who haven't heard about this yet, please check every ingredients in the products that you've been purchasing. And reject everything made in China. That's the best thing to do now. I am writing this because I just got a letter from Mead Johnson saying their products are safe.

it's me,

which is worse?

This is just a random question. I want to know which ones you prefer: You have some guests that didn't tell you they're coming over or you have a guest that calls you first to come to your house but then you didn't want to see that guest? LOL! I have two of both and I dislike it so much. If only we have that Nationwide Phone Lookup in Malaysia. Then I would know who would be calling me and I didn't need to answer that phone call if I knew it would just annoy me. There was one time this lady called me. She always annoy me but then I had to answer the phone call, right? So she told me that in this certain country, all the people love to eat fish. So they're very smart. Did you eat fish today? LOL! I knew it was out of concern and I was pregnant then but I hated fish! LOL! What to do? I said, yes, I did. I ate the tinned sardines. She said: Yuck! So now, you know what I mean already? Hehehe.

In 50statephonelookup, you have a way to know your caller. Not only that, you'd get to know the caller's name, address, and other personal information. Wish we have this in Malaysia.

Aquaria KLCC

After our trip to KL Tower, we went straight to the Aquaria KLCC. Both the kids were fascinated by the different fish/marine species they saw inside.

Located in KLCC, adjacent to the PETRONAS Twin Towers, Aquaria KLCC is a world-class aquarium that showcases animals and various types of colorful marine life species from Malaysia and around the world. Entrance fee for Aquaria KLCC was 38RM/pax but if you're Malaysian, you only pay 28RM/pax.
This fish was huge! I was busy taking photos and running after Samantha so I didn't get its name.

There were baby piranhas around. Samantha loved looking at the fish. Something's wrong with my camera so it's not showing the true color. Probably because it got wet when we went to Sunway Lagoon Theme Park last week. I probably need to get a new one already. Hehehe.

it's me,

Tailored Suit

My husband had his wedding suit especially made in Thailand. We realized that to make your own suit here in Malaysia would be super expensive. We had a friend that made his wedding suit there. So we made a special trip to Hatyai and asked our friend to do language translations for us in a tailor for mens’ suit. Our friend was very good in his Thai language so we got a good deal. It was not expensive and we got a very good quality material so we were happy with the result. So when my boy was CHOSEN to be the ring bearer for his uncle Ramesh' wedding, we wanted to make a suit for him, custom made. There was one in Subang Parade we saw that does tailored suits. We asked them if they do for kids as well Straight away, they said no and then added that if they did, it would be expensive. We left the tailor shop straight away. What if we were willing to spend that much? They just lost a willing-to-pay-no-matter-how-much-it-would-cost customer. So... from that experience alone, we get a notion that every tailored suit would be expensive. That time, I didn't know about Mysuit.com. Yet.

Mysuit.com offers Made to measure suits at off-the-rack prices. Waiting time is not bad either as it would be ready in 2 weeks time. Their buying process is very straightforward. You can actually make an appointment online. They have a form for you to fill in your location, and the date and time you want to set your appointment. I can guarantee you you that after you make your custom suit for the first time, you will never buy a suit off-the-rack again.

KL Tower

We painted the town red today. I was actually hesitant to go with our guests to go around the city but since they begged asked me to go with them a few times, I obliged. It is still a challenge to go out without hubby with two kids as Samantha runs around like crazy. But the kids had fun so it was great. It was the first time for both to go up the KL Tower. It was a bit hazy and cloudy when we went up so I didn't have a good picture taken from there.

To reach the uppermost storey of KL tower takes 58 seconds. It is actually the 4th tallest tower in the world. It was my third time going up there. Nothing much to do except to see the whole of Kuala Lumpur. The entrance fee would be 20.00RM/pax, and kids under 4 years old are free of charge. My girl was running around. :( It's hard to control her when I put her down. I also couldn't carry her most of the time because I wanted her to enjoy and explore. Anyways, to go up the KL Tower and see all observation decks around and down the KL tower takes 45 minutes. If you're around town and want to try it, it's good to go up in the evening. So then, you'd see the city well lit up.

black is dark?

Nowadays when Christians introduce the evangelistic tool, the blank book, they no longer use the term black to mean it is a sin. It must be very offensive for black people to refer to sin as black. So they use the word dark instead. There is quite a number of black people in my church. We have them in my boy's class, as well as my girl's toddlers' class. So the teachers are very careful in using their terms. Anyways, in Malaysia, Black people are everywhere. And do you know that if you're interested in meeting Black Women, you can find them online? Just visit blackscene.com and you will find a lot of single Black women.

Jaam-E-Jam

Whatever that means... it's not another Indian movie. Although it sounds like it is. Actually, it is the name of the Iranian restaurant our friend took us to a few months ago.One thing in Malaysia is that you could taste a little bit of different cultures of different ethne or different people groups. I had gone to Pakistani restaurant and their food was to die for... and some other food places. This time was Iranian delicacies and I wanna share with you what we had when our friend took us to the Iranian restaurant.

This was the first thing they served. Mint leaves with onion and limes. You will discover why they serve mint leaves later.

Then came the soup with barley, carrots, spices and some other things inside. It was very tasty. Samantha had it too.

Middeteranian (?) salad which was served with plain yogurt and yogurt with onions and dried herbs inside.
.

Lamb Kebab. It was very tender and juicy. There was chicken kebab too but i forgot to take photo of it.

All these served with Iranian bread which tasted like the Indian plain naan.

Or you may choose rice over bread. The rice is cooked with Saffron. That's why it's yellow on top. And you actually slather the butter on the rice. It really was delicious.

I can never explain the taste of this lamb stew but it has different kinds of leaves cooked with it. Very healthy food. Rich in fiber.

We finished off with tea with fresh mint leaves. I haven't tried tea with mint leaves before but it sure tasted nice. That's a good idea for my tea party. It's nice to be going outside from time to time. You can easily get new ideas.

And for Mid-Eastern people, a meal is not complete if you don't have this. I forgot the name. Sorry. It's like a cigar but smoked/inhale in a thing like this.

So there. I had a great time with the food. I don't mind going back there.

Stainless Steel

Stainless steels for kitchen fixtures nowadays are so in. It was newly discovered that stainless steels have lesser tendency to retain bacteria compared to other materials. And it is much easier to clean too. Well, I blogged about me doing a bit of house makeover and while I was browsing some discount furniture online , I have stumbled upon Delta faucets. It is sure beautiful and I don't mind having it in my kitchen.

it's me,

House Makeover

I had been arranging and rearranging our house lately. I just miss having that cozy feeling in the house. When my girl started walking, we had to baby proof the house. So I kept some of the things that I thought were fragile or breakable. But now that she's old enough to understand which ones she can touch and which ones she cannot, I have started taking out some things to add in to our house decoration. And you know what I realized, our furniture, especially our couch set, needs to be reupholstered. On the other thought, doing upholstery is very expensive we might just buy a new one from discount furniture shop.
