Independent Kids

I am glad my kids can be independent now. With my hubby's frequent traveling, I could go with him at times and leave my kids with their grannies. I didn't train my kids to be independent while young. In fact, I tried to be there for them and never force them to be away from us. I think we have built in them some kind of trust in us that now, they can trust other people, too. I am also glad that they have grandparents that are very willing to take care of them. I know it's not their responsibility to take care of my kids... but they're here every time we need them to look after the kids. And they're very happy to do so.

I remember my mom-in-law used to ask me if she could take my kids to her place in Banting because she so wanna spend time with my kids. I knew then that one day, I would have to send my kids to them... but I didn't do so for their first few years. Now I can totally leave the kids with their grannies, without me worrying about them too much. Wait. That's a lie because I still worry about them. But I know they're in good hands. I think all mothers would feel the same when away from their kids.

Anyways, now that my boy knows his father's phone number, he can easily call us if he wants to. I just wish that he's old enough to open the computer and have a live chat with us when we're away but I think that could wait a while. I don't want to train my son in using the computer on his own too early... although I use it to teach them at home sometimes.

I remember when we went to London, he left a lot of voice messages for us in our phone. We didn't really use our roaming account because it's very expensive to do so. We bought a London simcard though and used that to call home.

it's me,

Hi Janet! I hope you're doing great. You have so lovely photos about London on your blog. The food made me hungry ;p. I can so relate to this post. It's great to let the children become more independent as long as they know we are there for them. Have a wonderful week, my dear :)
